The shopping landscape of Vienna is becoming even more diverse: In 2011, Austria's first BahnhofCity will go into operation. Travelers, commuters, visitors and residents will not only be using a completely modernized train station, but will also be able to enjoy an extraordinary shopping experience. The emphasis of the integrated shopping center will be on the fashion sector, while also boasting an extensive choice of food, gastronomy and travel necessities.

Opening

Since October 2008, the historic train station has been being remodeled during ongoing operations to become BahnhofCity Vienna West. The opening is planned for fall of 2011.

Approximately 17,000 square meters on three levels.

Branch and Tenant Mix´

With the new BahnhofCity Vienna West, the actual traffic station, namely the station concourse, will be enlarged by a gastronomic, shopping and service center. In addition to that, there will also be numerous offices as well as a hotel. The shopping area extends over a total retail area of approximately 17,000 square meters. It will hold about 90 shops.

The building is located on Mariahilfer Straße street, an important commercial zone of Vienna.

Customer Service

With the new BahnhofCity Vienna West, the actual traffic station, namely the station concourse, is enlarged by a gastronomic, shopping and service center. There will also be numerous offices as well as a hotel. In addition, approximately 600 parking spaces will be created.

Center Accessibility

The Train Station West is located at the Wiener Gürtel ("Vienna belt"), a city street which is frequented by approximately 80,000 vehicles per day. Apart from the central connection to the main metro lines U3 and U6, on which large parts of the city can be accessed, six tram lines as well as numerous bus lines stop directly at this site. The metro station is integrated into the station building, and several public means of transport will be accessible directly via the future BahnhofCity.

Catchment Area

Through the rail traffic alone, the location Vienna West Train Station is frequented by 43,000 people every day. It is to be expected that in the future the frequency of regional traffic will even increase. Moreover, there are approximately 1,861,000 residents living in the catchment area.
