ECE is active in a wide range of organisations and associations whose aim is to promote urban development, civic planning and the retail trade as well as to revitalise the inner cities. Dr. Andreas Mattner, Managing Director of ECE, is the president of the Executive Committee of the ZIA. The ZIA sponsors and accompanies measures suited to maintain and improve the economic, legal, political and fiscal environment of the overall real estate industry. It is the aim to provide the real estate industry a unified lobby. As exclusive representative of the real estate industry in the German Industry Federation (BDI), the ZIA can benefit from the BDI’s resources, networks and knowhow in order to better position the German real estate industry in public and politics.
The WVFI, the Research Association for the Promotion of Real Estate Journalism, has the aim to encourage and promote substantial, expert reports about real estate issues in the media. One of its most important activities is the yearly granting of the "German Award for Real Estate Journalism".
The Urban Land Institute is an international, non-profit research and education organization with more than 30,000 members, committed to the topics sustainable usage and development of urban working and living environments. For more than 60 years, ULI is being appreciated for its foresighted research for leading and sustainable standards in terms of regional planning, town planning and the real estate industry. Founded in Washington D.C. in 1936, ULI is today represented in 95 countries and provides a multidisciplinary forum for managers and experts of the real estate industry and the public sector. There area around 2,000 members in Europe. Alexander Otto, Chief Executive Officer of ECE, is Chairman of ULI Europe.
ECE is a member of the "Corporate Governance initiative of the German real estate industry", in which over 60 companies, in particular major market players with international business operations, have joined forces in a commitment to "good corporate governance".
GCSC is an interest group of the retail-oriented commercial property and shopping center sector. Klaus Striebich, ECE-Leasing-Manager, is member of the executive board of the GCSC.
The objective of BCSD is to preserve and create vibrant inner cities.
